Choosing Between a Charcoal Grill or Gas Grille Doesn’t Have To Be Tough
By Busy Door Guest Blogger | April 16, 2009
There’s nothing like cooking outside over a grill, just the thought of it gets your blood pumping and your taste buds watering. Unless you are prepared to cook over a campfire, There are many different types of barbecue grills you can choose from and you particular tastes and preferences will have to guide you in the brand and style that you get. Lots of people like the taste that comes from a charcoal grill while other people enjoy the ease of use that gas grill can provide.
Options for Your Gas Grill
The primary fuel that a gas barbecue grill uses is propane and they are quite easy to use as with just a touch of a button and a few temperature controlled you can be on your way to a tasty grill. The great thing about using gas is that it doesn’t take long to fire one up so if you’re having a busy week it’s not really an issue if you want to have a barbecue, and as an added bonus your hands don’t get all dirty. With a few adjustments of the temperature controls, you can cook your food more evenly than a charcoal fire could.
Some homes that are heated using natural gas have built-in barbecues, and this is the only time that natural gas can be an option for your grill. Little maintenance is necessary for the natural gas choice as you do not have to get tanks refilled occasionally like you would with the propane bbq grill. One of the downsides to using gas grills is that after a while some of the grill parts will start deteriorating and will need replacing. Some of the things that you can pretty much count on replacing include the valves, and temperature controls, and often even the igniters that help to light the flame.
Charcoal Grilling Options
In my own opinion, as a barbecue expert, I truly enjoyed the distinct flavor that charcoal adds to my meats and other foods that I throw on the grill, and I truly feel it is worth the extra effort in cleaning up the ashes and getting the fire lighted.Another added benefit is that most of your charcoal barbecue grills don’t have extra parts that are going to have to be replaced.Charcoal is for the most part pretty cheap, it is pretty dirty though but you never have to worry about leaking gas or filling up your propane tanks.
Portability
If you like to go camping, or have tailgate parties, or simply just like to indulge in any outdoor activities that begs for a barbecue, you really want to consider having a barbecue grill you can take with you. They make some pretty nice charcoal grills and gas grill options that are very portable and which you can take virtually anywhere. Your budget and taste buds will be your guide when shopping for a bbq grill.
